Moss - Tarts & Chocolates
Create a brand identity and standards by independently complete a self-initiated design project to meet professional development goals. Besides that, apply the brand to multiple applications in a cohesive and coherent manner by designing different graphic and visual communication pieces
For this project we could either develop a fictional brand or work with an actual client, so I decided to work with a pastry chef to develop the brand for a business she's planning on launching: Moss, a pastry by order service. Moss is meant to be an elegant brand, of handmade and high quality products, so I decided to lean in the more refined style typography, natural and muted colours and a delicate touch to the branded materials developed.

Part 01 - Research
I started off with a meeting with the client, wanting to know if she already had something in mind, what feeling she wanted the brand to transmit, its essence, statement and promise. From there I did research on the market, it's competitors, developed a moodboard and started sketching.

Through the process, I kept in mind the current reality of the business - haven't even being launched yet and being developed by a single person, I tried to keep things realistic and feasible for my client. Because of that, besides creating branded, made to order, packaging, I also developed branded material that could be added to plain boxes, so that they would be consistent, but have a lower production cost. Same strategy was brought to the business cards, having the diecut version and another version that alludes to the dome, but is in a standard format. For the same reason, when developing the style tile, I decided to utilized open source typefaces.
