Prop Master's Dream Pop-up Exhibit
To develop a traveling exhibition to accompany a documentary on the Vancouver Cantonese Opera's The Prop Master's Dream. We had to keep in mind ease of transport, assembly and keeping consistent with the previous branding on the documentary.
For this project we had to create an exhibit piece to accompany screenings of the documentary The Prop Master's Dream. Inspired by the story of the opera the documentary talks about, we choose fluidity as the concept of project, deciding to work with blues and fabrics to correlate to that. During the fabrication, we had to keep in mind the ease of assembly and transport of it. The requirements asked for something that could be transported in a regular car and assembled and disassembled by two people.
We managed that, and what started as a student project became an actual client work, since April choose our group's project to see it through and on March 23rd the exhibit will first be presented.

Part 01 - Concept
Through our concept we wanted to transmit the fluidity related to this opera —  it’s present in the ocean that separates Canada and China, in the actors’ performances, in the dream Wah-Kwan had.
We chose to highlight that by utilizing fabric as our main medium, draping it over bamboo bars, giving it more movement and softer lines.
